TANKS

Still queen of the battlefield after all these years, despite the best efforts of AT-gun designers, ATGM's, attack helis, etc. Over the last two decades, there has been an upper limit reached in terms of overall size and weight. The emphasis now is on lighter armors, autoloaders to reduce crew numbers, full amphibious capabilities, higher ground speeds and improved anti-missile self-defence.

Specifically built for urban warfare this light tank uses 8 tires instead of treads. This allows it to move incredibly fast for a tank while keeping the same manoeuvrability one would expect from such a vehicle. This tank is not suitable for off road use. A special feature allows the wheels to act independently, and each wheel can rotate in its hub a full 90 degrees, allowing it to travel sideways at up to 50 km/h.

Special Equipment :
Military radio, GPS, puncture proof tires, damage control, environment control, 12 hours life support, AEMS, laser communicator, laser rangefinder, satellite uplink, multi-targeting capabilities, image enhancement, military radar, radar detector, tele-optics, thermograph, independent and pivoting wheel system, cybernetic linkage.

Weaponry :
30 mm gatling with extra magazine, 105 mm cannon with 8 reloads, 6 IR smoke projectors, 2 shot IFAR pod, and a 5.56mm MG.

Arasaka loves it's wheeled design, and mounting 30 mm vulcans to them. This vehicle is almost more of an APC, but it doesn't hold enough people to support that role, and it's main gun is too severe for that anyway. The +5 targeting computer of this vehicle has proven to enable the vehicle to shoot down even fast moving aircraft, and the 30 mm gatling can act as an AGAMS system in emergency. Both the US and the EEC has made purchases of this vehicle.

Special Equipment :
Military radio, GPS, puncture proof tires, damage control, environment control, 12 hours life support, AEMS, laser communicator, laser rangefinder, satellite uplink, multi-targeting capabilities, image enhancement, military radar, radar detector, tele-optics, thermograph, independent and pivoting wheel system, cybernetic linkage.

Weaponry :
30 mm gatling (full sized 9D10 dam) with 2 extra magazines, revolver style 75 mm cannon, 6 IR smoke projectors, 2 shot IFAR pod and a 5.56 mm MG.

The EDF's railgun equipped tank, the entire vehicle was developed to fire the upgraded "Godsting" 3 cm railgun. The weapons far exceed the range of any similarly equipped tank, meaning it doesn't need to further weigh itself down with defensive weaponry. It is however very well armored, and the tanks fire control computer has proven so accurate it has even proven able to shoot aircraft out of the sky. Unfortunately its price has kept it from being widely distributed and deployed.

Special Equipment :
Military radio, damage control, environment control, 12 hours life support, AEMS, laser communicator, laser rangefinder, satellite uplink, military radar, radar detector, tele-optics, thermograph, ECM, cybernetic linkage, +5 targeting computer.

A truly unique design from GMI for a heavy weapons platform. The assembled weapon is a monster, in every conceivable sense of the word. It fires the largest gun seen anywhere on the world, save for heavy naval warships. The weapon usually sits or travels entrenched between a battery of VSAM and AGAMS equipped vehicles, and is used for long range support. The vehicle is huge, and heavy, and almost a waste of money due to the cost, not only of the vehicle itself, but of getting it to and from the war zone. Still, being able to shell other countries with pinpoint satellite assisted accuracy is a definite bonus.
The idea behind the design is, that the weapon can sit behind cover, then bring its "legs" in, raising it up to snipe at its target, then lowering back down again for safety. The vehicle gets around the issue of needing a tracked chassis to fire it's rail gun through the use of explosive driven pitons, four on each "leg" which drive into the ground, locking the vehicle in place for firing.

Special Equipment :
Military radio, GPS, damage control, environment control, 12 hours life support, AEMS, laser communicator, laser rangefinder, satellite uplink, image enhancement, military radar, radar detector, tele-optics, thermograph, cybernetic linkage, satellite linked +5 targeting system.

Mitsubishi unveiled this state of the art innovation earlier this year. This mini-tank does not use wheels or treads, but instead is propelled by 4 electromagnetically spun balls. The balls let the tank move in any direction at full speed, giving it unparalled manoeuvrability. This tank is the test bed for the design, and the military funding provided by the United States allowed them to try and perfect it. There is rumor that they will be releasing a civilian sports car with the same innovation later this year. For urban travel, the balls are covered in a thick rubber, but for rougher terrain the ball also have short extending spikes to aid in traction.

The largest and most expensive tank ever built. 5 of these exist, and it is unknown how South Africa managed to afford them, as well as where they got the knowledge to build them. Rumors are that Orbital Air funded them, with the EEC providing the plans (this corresponds with Orbital Airs spaceport construction plans, and the EEC's desire to control the region). These machines are monsters, and while moving across anything other than reinforced concrete they must keep moving or the massive weight will cause them to sink into the earth. So far no one has been able to to determine what military advantage these machines could give. They seem to have been built on a whim by a South African dictator, and rumors abound that the European government agreed to it simply to see what it would be capable of. Very strange proceedings surround this true behemoth.

The term "Infantry Fighting Vehicle" is applied to an armored personnel carrier that carries enough weaponry to operate in support of the infantry it carries. While this does increase the organic firepower of an armored infantry unit, it also increases the cost, and IFVs can't carry enough armor for a slugfest with anything more powerful than very light vehicles. In practice, the best use for IFVs is at a distance, behind the troops as fire support. Unfortunately, this means that the troops have to disembark at a distance from their objective, nullifying the advantage of armored transport.
Furthermore, the U.S. Army still can't seem to get an IFV that can float !

The M-75 LBT is the tank of choice for the average corporate army. Small, fast, with a quick-firing gun, it's nasty enough to do in anything not an MBT and cheap enough to lose.

Special Equipment :
Reactive armor, amphibious modifications, environment control, fire extinguisher, 4 IR smoke projectors, anti-personnel grenades, military radio with scrambler, laser and visual rangefinders, auto-pilot and navigation system, image enhancement, thermograph.

Weaponry :
12.7 mm machinegun and stabilized 75 mm gun in turret. 10 magazines for 75 mm in hull. +3 fire control computer for 75 mm.
Notes : may have cybernetic linkage added for 134,400 eb. Militech makes a version of this tank called the Destructor. The Destructor uses caseless ammunition for its main gun (ammo cost doubles), so that it holds half again as many rounds (50 rounds).

Despite the size, weight and cost of this behemoth, it only supports one weapon system, a 3 cm railgun wrapped inside a special cowling to try and conceal its purpose by making it appear to be a more conventional weapon. This tank is huge, and has seen the most service in central Africa, being used by both sides in the massive civil war that is still raging. Due to the high cost of the railgun, and the high cost of the vehicle itself, very little in the way of other options are included. This is a poor mans tank with a rich mans weapon mounted on it.

Special Equipment :
Military radio, damage control, environment control, 12 hours life support, AEMS, laser communicator, laser rangefinder, satellite uplink, military radar, radar detector, teleoptics, thermograph.

Weaponry :
3 cm railgun with 5 magazines.

A large weapon on a large tank. The turret does not rotate, instead the computer automatically moves the tank for firing solution. This makes it rather difficult for any close quarters survival, but since that's not it's duty, the Russians didn't seem to worried about that, and with it's incredible range, nor do most of its tank crews.

Special Equipment :
Military radio, GPS, damage control, environment control, 12 hours life support, AEMS, laser communicator, satellite uplink, visual rangefinders, navigation system, multi-targeting capabilities, military radar, radar detector, tele-optics, thermograph.

Weaponry :
140 mm cannon with 8 reloads, four 2" rockets.

Russia's most advanced and well armed tank. Possibly the best in the world. Featuring abundant, highly sloped armor, and weapons for nearly any situation. This vehicle is set to replace the BTP-36 as Russia's MBT, though its high cost has kept it from being too widely distributed as of yet.
